Walking guides

These walks around Ugborough Parish take in quiet country lanes, footpaths and bridleways.

Ugborough map in the style of Tolkein

The walks described are all circular, starting and finishing at the conduit in the village square.

As most of these walks involve some lane walking please beware of the occasional vehicle on the lanes especially when accompanied by young children and/or dogs. In places you cross, or walk short distances along, main roads with no pavements so extra care is needed here and children will need to be supervised.

Village Conduit

The conduit was renovated in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Golden jubilee. It served as the first piped water supply to the village and was in use up until 1942. The conduit was refurbished in 2011.

Pubs

We are blessed with two excellent pubs in Ugborough, The Ship and The Anchor, who will always welcome thirsty walkers!
